Andrea Schudtz è nato nel 1973.
Da piccolo ha frequentato la scuola di musica suonando il violino.
Ha fatto i primi passi nell'arte della costruzione degli strumenti ad arco con suo padre Pavel Schudtz, Maestro Liutaio molto famoso che ha lavorato per il Teatro Bolshoj a Mosca (Russia) ed è stato nominato "Esperto Restauratore" della collezione di strumenti dello Stato della Russia e all'età di 15 anni Andrea produce i suoi primi strumenti.
Intorno al 1990 la famiglia Schudtz si è trasferita in Spagna sotto invito del Principe della Fondazione di Asturias (Spagna) al padre Pavel Schudtz a trasferirsi in Spagna e lavorare per l'orchestra del Principato. Da allora Andrea ha lavorato nel laboratorio del padre apprendendo le tecniche di restauro degli strumenti antichi.
Nel 1991 Andrea decide di frequentare la Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria a Cremona e si trasferisce in Italia e si diploma con i maestri Mo. Conia, Mo. Scolari e Mo. Negroni. Durante gli anni scolastici, pratica e perfeziona la sua tecnica liutaria nella bottega del Mo. Alessandro Crillovi. Dopo aver ottenuto il Diploma, lavora presso la Bottega Scuola CEE di Cremona e dal 1996 al 1998 frequenta il corso di Archetteria della Regione Lombardia ed ottiene il relativo attestato.

Ha partecipato a svariati concorsi di liuteria, come ad esempio:
•  Violin Makers Competition of Tchaikovschy, Mosca - 1990 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma, ha raggiunto il 5° posto Violoncello e gli è stato assegnato il premio per il partecipante più giovane;
•  Violin Makers Competition di Praga (Repubblica Ceca) - 1992 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma;
•  4 a edizione Concorso di Liuteria di Baveno (Italia) - 1993 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma;
•  2 nd Violin Makers Competition of Tchaikovschy, Mosca - 1994 - dove ha raggiunto il 5° posto Violino ed il Premio per il miglior suono offerto dai Liutai francesi;
•  6 a edizione Concorso di Liuteria di Baveno (Italia) - 1997 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma
•  Concours Internationaux de la Ville de Paris, Parigi (Francia) - 1999 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma
•  International VSA Competition, USA - 2000 - dove ha ottenuto il Diploma

I suoi strumenti sono fatti seguendo le regole dei modelli classici della Scuola Cremonese come ad esempio Stradivari, Guarneri ed Amati, aggiungendo soltanto un tocco personale. La sua vernice è molto sottile ed elastica e la scelta del legno è eccellente.
Tutte queste qualità rendono i suoi strumenti famosi tra i musicisti di tutto il mondo.
Attualmente vive e lavora a Cremona dove ha aperto una bottega in centro città. Costruisce e ripara viole, violini e violoncelli. Effettua restauri sia agli strumenti che agli archi e, su richiesta, effettua riproduzioni di strumenti antichi.

Andrea Schudtz was born in November 1973.
He took his first steps in the art of violin making with his father Pavel Schudtz, a famous Mo.Liutaio who worked for Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and became an expert of the instrument collection of the state of Russia.
As a child Andrea began playing the violin and also attended the Central School of Music.
When he was about 15 he started making his first instrument..
In 1990 the "Prince of Asturias Foundation" invited his father Pavel Schudtz to move to Spain and work for its Orchestra. The Family moved   to Spain and Andrea   started working with his father   learning about the restoration of antique instruments.They opened two workshops: one in Oviedo(Asturias) and one in Madrid.

In 1991 Andrea decided to attend the International School of Violins Making in Cremona and moved to Italy. He studied with Mo. Conia, Mo. Negroni, Mo. G. Scolari and in 1995 graduated from the school. While attending the first year of the school he worked in Mo.Crillovi's workshop.
From 1995 to 1997 he attended the bow making course in Cremona ,while working in the Bottega Scuola Cee.
His instruments are made following the classical models of the Cremonese School, such as Stradivari, Guarneri and Amati with a personal touch.
His varnish is very thin and elastic and the choice of the wood is excellent. These qualities   make his   instruments very succesfull with musicians all over the world.
At present he lives and works in Cremona where has opened a workshop in the center of town. He builds and repairs violins, violas and cellos; he also restores all stringed instruments and their bows and, under request, he also makes copies of antique instruments.

Andrea has taken part in several violin making competition, such as:

-Violin Makers competition Tchaikovsky,Moscow - 1990 - where he earned the 5 th place for Violoncello and the Prize for the youngest participant;
-Violin Makers competition   in Prague -1992-
-4 th . National Violin Makers   Competition in Baveno, Italy - 1993
-2 nd ,Violin Makers Competition   of Tchaikovsky,Moscow - 1994 where he earned the 5 th place for violin and the prize for the best sound offered by the french Violin Makers
-6 th National Violin Makers competition in Baveno,Italy - 1997.
